Skip The Line To St Peter’s

Enter is the Basilica with a privileged passage only for guides. Visit the pope’s tombs and Michelangelo’s Pietà

Piazza del Campidoglio

This is one of the most beautiful squares in Rome and was designed by none other than Michelangelo. No square can be complete without sculpture or statue, and you will be awed by the Statue of Marcus Aurelius. He was the father of the ruthless Commodus, and his imposing bronze equestrian statue is a testament to Roman authority and worship.

Circus Maximus

The next stop is the chariot-racing stadium of the past. The famous movie, Ben Hur was shot here for its chariot-racing scenes. From here, you will be able to view Palatine Hill, which was notable for the residences of nobility. Today, all is left is ruins of once sprawling villas and palaces.

Colosseum

The tour continues to the Colosseum. You can have a stop to admire this huge monument and hear echoes of the gladiators. Look around you as you imagine that at one time, up to 80,000 spectators were watching the spectacle in the arena.

Piazza Venezia, Quirinal Palace, Trevi Fountain

You will now hop back into your vehicle, and we will take a round of the Piazza Venezia. Located in the heart of Rome, the square is surrounded by very famous monuments. You can’t miss out on the Il Vittoriano, a marble monument dedicated to King Victor Emmanuel II- the first king of Italy. The next stop is the Quirinal Palace which is one of the residences of the Italian president. A trip to Rome and not tossing a coin in the Trevi Fountain is unheard of. This is one of the world’s most famous fountains and the grandest of baroque fountains found anywhere else. As you toss the coin, wish well for others, yourself, and make a wish to come back again soon.

Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Pamphilj Palace

Identify yourself in the shoes of poets, writers, painters who all took a fancy to the Spanish Steps. It was a favorite hangout of the Roman nobility. You will pass Palazzo Chigi which is the residence of the prime minister of Italy and also pass by the Italian Parliament. The next stop is the meeting place of modern-day Rome citizens in the city, Piazza Navona. It is adorned by the Pamphilj Palace which currently houses the Brazil embassy and the breathtaking Bernini’s fountains.

Pantheon

Under the orders of Emperor Hadrian, the Pantheon was constructed as a temple to all gods. The dome is the largest unsupported dome in the world and is beautifully preserved. On the inside, you may see the tombs of famous Romans such as the artist Raphael, poets, and several Italian Kings.
At the end of the sightseeing tour, your driver will take you to the Vatican district. You can have lunch and take a look at the neighborhood.

Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel

In the evening you will see the genius of Michelangelo’s frescoes and his depiction of the Last Judgment inside the Sistine Chapel. Your guide will share interesting facts about the artists, the popes, the emperors to give you an idea of how they changed the course of history and how the world viewed Rome through the lenses of music, art, architecture, and endeavors of the human spirit. The Dome and structure of St Peter’s Basilica will leave you spellbound. Here you will see one of the most endearing artworks of Michelangelo ever created and the only one he signed! The “Pieta” depicts Mother Mary cradling Jesus in her arms after his crucifixion. St ’Peter’s Basilica is also home to Bernini’s Baldacchino a large Baroque sculpted bronze canopy, below which is the resting place of St Peter’s.

  •   The experience was good, but the guide Musei was dull. We decided to leave the tour after the Colosseum. They didn’t tell us it was 1 hour between them.
