Raphael Rooms

View the beautiful frescos painted by the young Raphael which were for a suite of apartments for Pope Julius 11. There is no doubt that the Rooms represent one of Raphael's greatest masterpieces. These environments have allowed the artist to compete with the most diverse subjects and to adopt new solutions each time. It can certainly be said that, if the Sistine Chapel embodies the heart of the Vatican as a spiritual authority, the Raphael Rooms are instead the political heart of the papacy.

Sistine Chapel

Once a visitor enters the Sistine chapel, you cannot help let out an “Aahh”, in front of such a masterpiece. You will be surrounded by frescos depicting Stories of Moses, Stories of Jesus, Resurrection of Christ, and of course Michelangelo’s ‘Last Judgement.’

Belvedere Courtyard and viewing of marble sculptures of Apollo Belvedere & Laocoön

The Belvedere courtyard was built to link the Vatican and the Belvedere ( which is a structure built to take in views of a location). Here you will see the famous marble sculpture of Apollo Belvedere, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful sculptures in the world for its exquisite craftsmanship. The statue of Laocoön and His Sons is almost life-sized and depict a scene of them struggling from the clutches of sea serpents

Pinecone Courtyard

A 4-meter bronze pinecone adorned by two peacocks on its side. A selfie moment indeed!

Vatican Museums – Galleries

See the beautiful galleries and their treasures in Gallery of the Maps, Gallery of the Candelabra, Gallery of the Tapestries. View the topographical maps of Italy. The accuracy of the maps was placed at 80% which is remarkable. View also marvelous tapestries that hide some perspective secrets.
